Overview

The majority of the people are aware of the meat industry's environmental impact. They are worried about issues like food waste, capitalism, and overconsumption and wanted to take action. The health advantages are a bonus, but they are really a focus. With the help of this app people can refine their relationship to the environment. As more people become interested in living sustainably, We’d like to assist them in making the move to a plant-based lifestyle.

Problem Statement

A young professional who wants to adapt to vegan lifestyle needs to easily find plant-based recipes, search for information about veganism, and develop a stress-free transition plan because it feels like transitioning and keeping up with a vegan diet is stressful.

Users and Audience

Interviews allowed us to building of personas. A young professional or student in their mid-twenties and concerned about their health. This app is intended for those who are new to a meat-free diet and are attempting to transition to a vegan diet and are looking for recipe ideas and quick food options without having to prepare meals or grocery shopping.

Roles and Responsibilities

Because this was a collaborative project, we completed all of the work in a group, from research to building. We had three members in our group. My responsibilities as a group member included conducting user interviews, performing research, and building wireframes.

Scope and Constraints

When talking about timeline, then we had a little constraints in it because we were following lean UX methodology.

Research

Our research started with Preliminary research phase. Firstly, People were interviewed for a short time. That was an opportunity to learn about their hobbies, habits, and daily routines in order to discover an issue that might be solved by creating a simple mobile app.

Process

To achieve the best possible result for this project, we implemented the Lean UX approach. As a result, we were able to deliver the most beneficial solution to the users. We started with 'Understand phase till ' 'Build' Phase.

Understand > Explore > Build

1. Understand

- We interviewed some people to discover pinpoints
- Also, we did some secondary research
- We created user personas to get clear picture of whom I designing for
- Organized all our findings
- Came up with problem statement that would help us to focus on one point

2. Explore

- Gathered some key findings from discovery phase
- Created a proto-persona
- Described our long term goal
- We came up with some ‘Questions & Assumptions’ and ‘HMW’
- Crazy 6 Sketches
- Hypothesis Statement

3. Build

- Information Architecture
- User Flow
- Low fidelity wireframe/sketches
- Final prototype

3. Question & Assumptions

- How many people would be able to adapt a long-term vegan lifestyle?
- Would one be able to plan their meals on time?
- Becoming stereotyped as preachy vegan, which could affect users emotionally and demotivate them in their journey.
- How will users track benchmarks and progress?
- Would users able to find vegan ingredients in their local marketplace?

Conclusion

This project was quite challenging for me because it was my first UX project and some phases was completed in a short amount of time. However, we had a great time working on this project. Throughout the process, we have learned new things, and I'm sure we have also sharpen our skills from time to time. In the future, I feel we may explore a lot of improvements for this functionality.

Thank You
